Greetings from Pet Paradise
January 6th, 2009
You spoke... we listened!
As we kick off the New Year, we are excited to announce
some enhancements we will be making as a direct result of your responses
and suggestions to our recent survey.
We will announce these upgrades along with the winner of
the Free Month of Boarding/Daycare in our February email newsletter. Thank you to the more than
1,600 people who participated in our email survey sent out in last
month's newsletter, we appreciate your feedback and support.
"Food for Paws" Pet Food Drive Update
The 1st Annual Food for Paws pet food drive
collected over 4
tons of pet food in 2 weeks. The large scale pet food
drive not only benefited local animal rescue groups, but directly helped
pet owners who are financially struggling to keep their pets. Some of our
partner groups have already reported that the food collected directly
resulted in numerous pet owners being able to keep their pets. The
stories keep coming in and we are very thankful that we were able to
help. The pet food drives took place in Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC and
Jacksonville, FL. Thank you again to all who donated and participated in
this drive. You
made this possible.
Our Goal next
year: 10,000 pounds of food!

New Year's Resolution for your pets
With the New Year, it is always nice to make a “fresh
start” with our pets! Below are some good “pet resolutions” to make for
2010!
Exercise - A simple daily walk
helps a dog learn proper manners and provides some good quality
"together" time! Maintaining your pet at the proper body weight
reduces their risk of heart and joint problems, diabetes, and a host of
other poor health conditions. If you don't have time for a daily walk,
you can always bring them to our doggie daycare program for lots of
exercise and socialization!
Health Check Up - It is important
that your pet visit their veterinarian for their regular check up. Annual
examinations of teeth, heart/lungs, and body condition will be more
beneficial and less costly than waiting for a problem to develop.
Love & Attention -
This is probably obvious, but too many pets are left outside in all kinds
of weather, with very little human contact. Same goes for inside pets --
those who are largely ignored for lack of time and busy human schedules.
Take the time to focus on your pets and create/nurture that human-animal
bond!
Good Grooming - Regular grooming
-- bathing, toe nail clips, brushing out coat, parasite control -- not
only make the pet more pleasing to be around, but also make it much
healthier for the pet.
Best regards,
