Whether you are the proud owner of a precious Pomeranian or a sweet Saint Bernard (or anything in between), it's easy to say we all go through some of the same relatable things of owning a dog on the daily. Let us know if anything on this list feels familiar to you!
1. You Don't Need an Alarm Clock
Can you even remember the last time you slept in? “Hey mom, time for breakfast! Dad, time for my walk!”
2. Dog Parent Guilt
Facing the dreaded puppy eyes when they know you're about to leave for work all day is the worst.
3. Hair. Every. Where.
Hair everywhere doesn't faze you anymore. It’s literally e v e r y w h e r e all throughout your home. There’s a reason they call it “fur”niture, right?
4. Always a Lap Dog (No Matter How Big)
You know as soon as you sit on the couch that your fur baby finds a way to make room on your lap.
5. No Such Thing as Personal Space
Dogs truly believe in the "Buddy System." Can you remember the last time you had a second alone?
6. 100’s of Dog Pictures
How can you resist taking a photo every time your dog does something adorable? Or every time they sleep? Or every time they do anything really.
7. The Good-bye Speech
Every time you leave the house, it warrants at least a 3-minute speech. Common themes of said speech include:
- telling them how much you love them
- reminding them they need to guard the house
- advising them to be on their best behavior
8. The Baby Voice
Fluffy’s name isn’t really Fluffy. It’s normally Cutie-Patootie-Lovie-Baby-Fluffyluffy-Sweetiepants… all said in your highest pitch voice. Don’t worry, we all do it.
9. New Toys After Every Visit to the Store
You know your dog’s toy bin is already overflowing and you know they only really play with their 3 favorite toys out of all 30 of their choices. But one more toy won’t hurt, right?
10. “Sorry, I can’t go… I have to keep my dog company.”
Feeling a night in when everyone else is going out? Your dog always makes staying home a perfectly great option for any night!
