Jacksonville-based pet resort introduces new veterinary concept to reduce stress in pets; offers veterinary services at second state-of the-art resort in Jacksonville
Pet Paradise's new veterinary clinics are open and introduce pets to a fun environment for veterinary care
JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – (July 11, 2018) — Pet Paradise, a Jacksonville-based pet resort offering a variety of pet-related services, has launched new veterinary clinics inside their locations. The new clinics offer a "Less Fear, More Fun" approach to veterinary care.
"We want to change the way many pets view visiting the veterinarian," said Fernando Acosta-Rua, CEO of Pet Paradise. "With our new concept, we are making it more convenient for our current guests who need veterinary care and offering a low-stress experience for those looking for a new veterinarian with on-site services at our state-of-the-art resorts."
Pet Paradise opened the company's first veterinary clinic in November 2017 at the University Boulevard Pet Paradise. The clinic offers vaccinations, annual exams, heartworm and leukemia testing, bloodwork, urinalysis, microchipping, minor surgical procedures and dental cleanings. Pet Paradise partners with a variety of specialty veterinary practices.
Each Pet Paradise clinic is staffed by one veterinarian, a practice manager and approximately five veterinary technicians.
"We were delighted by the positive response when we opened our University Boulevard veterinary clinic," said Dr. Jaime Pickett, chief veterinary officer at Pet Paradise. "If a pet comes for boarding and needs veterinary care, we can offer services on-site. We are proud to take the fear out of visiting the vet for our dog and cat guests. Our veterinarians examine pets in our play yards, where dogs and cats can relax."
In the first seven months of operation, Pet Paradise examined more than 1,000 dogs and cats at the University Boulevard location.
Pet Paradise offers three affordable wellness plans that include unlimited office visits and physical exams:
- The Core Wellness Plan also provides two intestinal fecal exams, two routine dewormings, heartworm / leukemia test, ear cytology, interstate health certificate and rabies, distemper, parvo, leptospirosis and bordetella vaccines per year. The Core Wellness Plan is $34 per month.
- The Vital Wellness Plan offers all of the services in the Core Plan, along with eye pressure tests, urinalysis, blood work, leukemia, influenza and lyme vaccines annually. The Vital Plan is $46 per month.
- The Premium Wellness Plan offers all services in the Vital Plan and electrocardiogram, blood pressure check, pulse oximetry and one professional dental cleaning per year. The Premium Wellness Plan is $60 per month.
Wellness plans can help detect problems early for a better prognosis, less complex treatment and reduced medical expenses.
Pet Paradise veterinary clinics are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Appointments are suggested, but Pet Paradise will take walk-ins. A third Pet Paradise veterinary wellness clinic will open in September with the opening of the Park Pet Paradise Bartram resort.
